Hey!
Just thought I would make a little update. First of I finally concurred and maid a Facebook Fan Page for my photography.

Haven't been shooting that much these past few months. The winter is pretty cold still, but the snow is beginning to melt, so the weather is quite boring at the moment and its still pretty dark.

I do have something to look forward to photo wise this year. I will fly up with a bunch of my best friends and stay in a cabin up in Lofoten, Norway. I was there for a day this autumn and can't wait to get the possibility to go explore the beauty up there for a whole week. Its gonna be awesome. Have some personal projects going on as well, one of them hopefully will be ending as a book, a book containing portraits of friends. Perfect to combine hanging out with people I haven't seen for a long long time in some cases, catch up and hopefully get some good portraits of people that have made a difference in my life through out the years.

Project #2 is my Archi series album which I hope will grow this year. Have some buildings in Sthlm I want to shoot, but up to this date the weather gods haven't been cooperative at all.

Last I thank fstoppers.com for making my latest Manipulation project come to live on the internet, thanks to that feature.
Almost 14k have watched it now, a bit more then my usual 100 haha.

Hey there!
It´s been a pretty long time since I last wrote a journal here. 9 month to be more precise.
Lots and nothing have happened since then. I've been working mostly,
drained on inspiration I haven't really been shooting that much as you've seen.
Last few month things have changed a bit at least. I bought a home studio kit + I finally bought the 5DmII.
The inspiration still comes and goes as usual but I tend to take more pictures and enjoying it loads more thanks to my new toys.
I will take a weekend trip up to the north of Sweden next month, flying up,
renting a car and just drive/walk around in the beautiful nature of an autumn dressed north with snow covered mountain tops.
I will hopefully getting some decent picture memories home with me.
But most of all I just need to get away a bit, breath some fresh air and leave a roller coaster year at home.



I've also updated my homepage finally. Please take a look and give me your thoughts on it, hope you like it. I do.

Long time since I featured anything, although I haven't been writing much I still get in here from time to time to get fueled on inspiration from all the amazing talented artist I watch admire and follow...

Finally Friday again. Hope you're doing well guys.
Just wanted to post a link to the article I mentioned in my last journal.
Its one of the biggest Camera Magazines in Sweden,
this would be the second time I get some pictures published in a Magazine.
It's unreal to stand in a newspaper stand and see your own face in a magazine.

Last night I got a tip that Samsung had a SP competition that would take the winner to NY.
I'm pretty much against the whole competition thingy cause I mostly takes pictures for myself,
documenting my life and such. But to go to NY for free again would really be  so very nice.
I don't think I have a chance but if you have nothing else to do I would appreciate the support:

Just write Hocal in the sök(search) field and there I am, boost them/it if you like or well just don't =]
And for them hating people who's phishing for competition votes in journals, I hear ya.
I'm usually one of you guys.. But well, its NY got damn it! =]


On a last note there are some things moving as a result of my photos getting noticed,
which I hope can lead to an upgrade of my camera gear.
Keeping my fingers crossed that the coming weeks will point in the right direction.

I´m back. Despite being sick most of the trip to NY it was an amazing vacation.
Its a fantastic city and if you think about going, just go. You won't regret it.

Kudos to Sigur Rós who plays in the background and who I often listen to when I'm out taking pictures.

On another note I was contacted by a Swedish photo magazine and got interviewed about self portraits.
Kind of funny cause I took most of my Sp's down a few months ago =]
Will probably be out later this month with a couple of my SP's in it as well. Could be interesting.

Just received an email that I was on some sort of shortlist on the Digital Camera's Photographer of the year 2009 thinghy.
Threw in a couple of pics on the last day of submitting by chance.

Its now exactly 2 weeks til I'm in NY. Can't wait to see the big apple, reeeeeally looking forward to it.
